Tours of the California ISO Control Room can be arranged for visitor groups on weekdays between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grid reliability is a constant, 24/7 job and the ISO Control Room is where it happens. This 17,000 square foot room houses a round-the-clock staff of 12 operators who utilize the latest desk-top technology, large LCD displays, and a mosaic map board of the control area to track the movement of electrons in, out and throughout the state. Members of the Bureau enjoy talking to groups about the energy industry and the ISO in particular.
